A Letter to my Girl Gang,

If this letter were a handwritten it would say, “thank you” in a huge, bold dramatic font. Because my girls deserve all the thanks in the entire world. Majority of us have been friends since high school. A lot of us stayed in Columbus for college, a few of us traveled to the University of Kentucky but we were all relatively close. When we all adventured off to college we really took our freshman year to adjust, get close to our college friends but the second that summer rolled around we were back together like we never left each other's side. We have a group message that we talk in daily. We vent, we laugh, we cry, we share our struggles and successes with one another and I am more than grateful to have a group like them. We have been through so much individually but always had the group to pick us back up whenever we struggled.

I’m going to express my take of my girl gang and why I'm so thankful for each and every one of them. I am thankful for these girls hearing my constant complaining about things. I am thankful for days where I need these girls to hype me up and I have 15 text messages doing just that within 5 minutes. I am thankful for this group of girls always making me smile and laugh. I am thankful for this group of always reminding me of my worth.

 I’ll never forget one-weekend last fall, I had gone through a lot that semester and I was struggling and dealing with a break up from a boy I had dated for seven years. Of course, these girls were the first to know and the first to pull me out of my “dark place” one weekend the girls from UK all came home from Columbus, the OSU girls cleared their schedules with their college friends and we all made time for each other. These girls knew that I needed them and their support without me even saying a word. Just like that, we were all together the entire weekend, enjoying each others company, going to bars, making each other laugh. It was a weekend that truly saved me. That Sunday I was so overwhelmed with the love each of them gave me. I realized how grateful I was and how much love these seven girls had to give.

These girls are such beautiful, intelligent, happy souls that truly deserve the world. My point in writing this is to show my girl gang how much I appreciate you guys and how much love I have for each of you individually. Thank you for the constant support and know I will ALWAYS support you and love you guys to my fullest potential. You all deserve to constantly be hyped up because each of you are so beautiful inside and out and full of so much life!

To the girls going to college this fall, my advice to you is, don’t forget your girl gang. They are everything. Always make time for them. Your schedule is going to get crazy. You’re going to be stressed and busy but always take time for those sisters of yours because they will help you pull through whatever struggles you’re going through. And to my sisters // girl gang, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for making me a better person every day and never forget, you have seven girls who love you and are ALWAYS there for you.
